Comments
Comments: What a spectacular day for this long loop over Cardigan. The summit was busy but not nearly as crazy as I expected. That was the only place I encountered other humans -- I saw no other hikers on the approach or exit.

Trails were generally damp in the morning from the overnight rain, but were drying out quickly from the chilly wind. Some scattered areas of pooled water and minor mud, but nothing to really speak of. A few ledge areas were wet, which just required attention so as not to slip.

Beautiful weather out here today, with deep blue, cloudless skies and crystal clear air for long views. Excellent vistas from all the ledge outlooks along Cardigan's bumpy southern ridge, especially from Orange, one of my favorites. Still lots of foliage color in the valleys below. On the way back, I did the short and easy bushwhack to the true summit of Brown.
