Comments
Comments: Nice bushwhack to this New Hampshire 100 Most Prominent Peak / List of John. From our parking location we set off heading east at moderate grade in nice woods following the Shepard River Natural Area boundary. There’s no real marking for this boundary other than what the maps and the lay of the land are showing. We keep some deep drainage to our south while heading for a bump northwest of the summit and then jumped onto the ridge turning southeast.

The top of Cragged Mountain has lots of bumps that go for about 3/4 of a mile so we figured we hit the most eastern end of the summit and work our way back to the true summit. There’s lots of ups and downs with not too much elevation change but lots of snake like changing direction. After hitting the far end, we turned back, hit the recognized high point, signed in and hike back to the Jeep.

Just over 3 mile and just under 1000 feet of elevation gain
