Comments
Comments: Took another adventure into Lost Pass and to Flat Mountain Pond so I could paddle it with the packraft. Herd paths and bushwhacks fairly straightforward. Basic itinerary: ascended under the Snow Mountain Chairlift, took Cascade Brook Ski Trail to just past the bridge and then took the first right on ski trails and logging roads up to Lost Pass. From Lost Pass, got a bit disoriented at times but kept just east of the big beaver pond through sparse fir trees, then, came down on skidder roads just to hiker's left or, east side of the main stream that drains into the Flat Mountain ponds. From there, was on the RR grade and took the trail to the shelter where I inflated the boat (wind was from the south) then floated to the north end of the pond (middle "narrows" area was a bit shallow - I got caught up on rocks/logs a bit here) then floated pretty much wind-driven to the little tiny beach area near where the trail crosses the brook near the RR grade. From there it was back up to Lost Pass and out via the ski area, the same route I came in on. Some very wet sections in the pass area. Fun times!!!! :)
