Ski trails are mostly mowed at this point, so one can choose from a variety of options (going straight up/down the main lift line is one of the worst routes, as there is a steep section with holes).
Sosman Trail was mostly dry. The ridge did have some ground frost and a few very minor spots of black ice (no need for light traction, but one small spot was on a ledge crossing, so a blind step would result in a fall).
Mt. Tecumseh Trail was also mostly dry. Upper elevation birch trees have dropped their leaves, so there is a coating of leaves on the trail.
Still some nice foliage down low, but Waterville is definitely past peak at this point. Beautiful afternoon with temperatures just a bit above freezing. Frosty Franconia Ridge and white Presidentials visible. |
