It was a great day to get out and hike with friends, we had a lot of laughs. We went to the South Peak first and enjoyed the views along with searching for any more aircraft remains from the crash back in 1968. The true summit is further along on the AT. From there we headed to the Moose Mountain AT shelter to look around before heading off to the North Peak, which is the true high point of Hanover, NH. There is no indication where the summit is, but we touched all the high points. There was a spot that looks like there was once a cairn for the summit, but it was flattened, we built it back up before we left. Coming back down, we took Wolfeboro Road, which has interesting history itself to the Harris Trail. A stop by the Class of '66' Lodge, which is an impressive log cabin, brought our day to an end. We did post a video on YouTube for anyone interested in seeing the hike or trail conditions. Just click the link... |
