Comments: We had a fun day exploring a new trail... the Old Osseo Trail. Technically it is a bushwhack but its is easy to follow up to Whaleback and beyond to where it joins the new Osseo trail. The only part that required bushwhacking skills was where we left the herd path and headed for the south peak through medium thick woods. Once we got back on the herd path to Whaleback the steep part started but again there was nothing difficult. There were two spots where the herd path switchbacks that we almost missed. Once we got to the new Osseo trail we followed that up to Flume summit then took it down and out to Lincoln Woods. All of the new Osseo trail is in good shape.
