Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Three major river crossings on this hike. First was of Slide Brook on Boulder Path - you've got to plan your route first, but once you've found which rocks to use, the crossing is fairly straightforward. Next was of Cascade Brook on Cascade Path - this was the easiest of the three since there were plenty of exposed rocks to step on. Finally, there was the crossing of Slide Brook on Norway Rapids Trail - that one is done on ledges, which today were wet and very slippery, so you've got to be slow and careful on that one. If the ledges were dry, it would've been quite a bit easier. Several other crossings were bridged.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Trails were mostly easy to follow, with two exceptions on Boulder Path. When the southbound Boulder Path meets the Lower Snows Mountain Ski Trail, there's no sign indicating which way the hiking trail turns. My intuition told me to turn right, which was correct. And then, where Boulder Path meets Cascade Ridge Road, it's not completely clear which way to go. Go straight across the road on a narrow footpath below one of the road's switchbacks. Besides that, this route was signed well. I don't remember any major blowdowns.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Didn't see any, but I don't see why not. Cascade Path and Cascade Path West both have some sharp drop-offs as they go past the series of falls - might be a good idea to leash them there.
Bugs
Bugs: None.
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: Nada.

Comments
Comments: This was a quick but enjoyable redlining loop in Waterville Valley. Boulder Path has a few twists and turns that should be followed carefully. Cascade Path is unremarkable until it reaches the cascades - they were nicer and had more water than I expected. Great views of the cascades from both sides of the brook, and there were several places that could be used as swimming holes in the warmer months. Definitely a place worth returning to.

Norway Rapids Trail was a nice short and mostly flat footpath through the woods. Livermore Road was, of course, its usual flat, smooth, and easy self. Despite the nice weekend, I saw no one else on Boulder Path or Norway Rapids Trail, and only a few other people on Cascade Path. Most of the people I saw were hiking in on Livermore Trail as I was hiking out. This whole hike was 5.6 miles.
