 | Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Parked in a pullout at the intersection of Rowentown and the last road marked Dead End just below the end of Rowentown. Lots of signs at the end of Rowentown asking not to park on town roads or block the gate so we chose this spot. |

Hiked up to the end of Rowentown to the gate which is the entrance to the Green Woodlands mountain biking and snowmobile trails. Stayed on the woods road until we came to a sharp left and a snowmobile road continuing straight. We continued straight and followed the snowmobile road, keeping left at a nearby fork. It started out easy, then moderate, then steadily steep up to a height of land between Lampier East Peak (on the left) and another bump (on the right). Here we entered the woods and started our bushwhack to the summit. Pretty steep, but short climb to the wide flat summit where we then spent some time wandering around looking for the jar: there are a few bumps but based on the flatness of the summit it was a little hard to locate and we finally did! We headed down pretty much the same way we had ascended, managing to avoid the really steep section and hitting the snowmobile road on the opposite side of the col/height of land where we had entered. Headed back down the snowmobile trail to the woods road to the gate. Just before the end we passed what appeared to be an elk farm and saw an impressive stag who then began bugling to entertain us even more! |
