| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Park on a turnoff area on rt 302 opposite of the trailhead (use caution crossing). About 7 vehicles there at 11 am. Given how utterly nutty the notches looked traffic wise, that was a blessing!

| Surface Conditions: |
Dry Trail, Mud - Minor/Avoidable, Leaves - Significant/Slippery |
|
| Recommended Equipment: |
|
|
| Water Crossing Notes: |
Mostly small and easy. The main crossing halfway up was completely dry!

|
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Lower section is in great shape. The upper section, however, had plenty of eroded areas on some steep pitches. Could use some TLC although I know it’s tough. Leaves are also starting to fall on the trail, and that will only continue to get worse.

| Dog-Related Notes: |
Just saw one again. They should be fine in the switchbacks. There's no water up there however.

Specifically saved Tremont for a peak foliage day, as I heard how nice it is this time of year. I would definitely agree, as there was outstanding color from the outlook. It is really peaking! Just a shame that there was some wildfire haze, which prevented the view from being clearer.
I liked the first half of the trail, which in a wetter season would be a scenic cascade hike. Past the brook crossing however, it gets rougher, and the upper climb was rather vicious. We met a seasoned hiker at the summit and he thought that Mt. Carrigain was an easier climb! I can’t say anything about that claim, but I can say that you shouldn't underestimate this one!
