Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Very Low
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Trails in great shape. The Black Pond Trail sign could use some brown paint to cover the graffiti. Sad days... The Owls Head Path has a couple tricky spots due to increased erosion. Those spots remind me of parts of the KRT.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: 1 well behaved doggo
Bugs
Bugs: none - 1 fast moving mouse this morning
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: Lost a Petzl Accu Core battery just before Black Pond Trail after taking a hard fall on a railroad tie- coincidentally just hours before the first day of fall. Mustve fell out of pocket. I didnt discover missing till much later when needed. Found and packed out some nasty socks and a very small amount of garbage. Thankyou to the hiker that packed out the roll of tp hanging from a branch. I planned on grabbing it on return🙂

Comments
Comments: Excellent day for Owls Head. Minor avoidable mud with a few stepovers on the BP bushwhack. The bushwhack as others have mentioned is pretty much a trail and one that's fairly easy to follow. I met 9 hikers on my way back and another dozen on Lincoln Woods Trail. I spoke with one hiker who just spotted a bear approx 1000 ft before the Osseo Trail
