Nothing to add to the directions from the previous reports (thanks). No register on the summit but the trees are so low there wouldn't anywhere to hang one for a few more years of growth. After doing due diligence on all the small bumps over the relatively flat summit I settled on the most southerly as being the high point. I did find a yellow plastic tube on the ground behind a large boulder and set that up within a small cairn near the boulder (the next big wind will probably blow it over). Returned using the same woods road and visited the Jewett Cemetery on Forbes Mt. behind where I parked the truck. Most stones were from the 1860's except the most recent one of 2002 and being visited regularly as evidenced by the fresh flowers. A great morning in the woods. |
