I snagged the second to last spot @ 6:10AM and the last one got grabbed 30 seconds later. Cars were lining the side of the road when I left at 11:20. |

Trail was in beautiful shape. 1-2 stepovers and one leaner up high a ways before the junction with Garfield Ridge Trail. |

Gorgeous day for a climb! It was a chilly start, definitely good to have a light coat and gloves especially up top when the breeze picked up.
The trail is beautiful- great footing, easy ascent. It does get rockier higher up, but nothing steep until the last little scramble before the summit on Garfield Ridge Trail.
The views from the top were spectacular- Clear skies that went on forever. It was hard to leave when it came time to head back into the trees.
The only folks I met on the way up were over-nighters on the summit, however it was a steady line of hikers headed up when I was descending. Lots of smiles, everyone enjoying a break from the real world on the mountainside. |
