Surface Conditions: Dry Trail
Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Amazingly, there's some water in the brook near the cascade. Not much, but it will keep you alive if you need it.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: CT is in remarkable shape with just a few blowdowns. No issues along the ridge.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: I saw some folks with dogs contemplating the ladders up to Morgan which would be a hard no in my opinion. Otherwise, this is a fine dog route.
Bugs
Bugs: Nope.
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: Nothing.

Comments
Comments: I took this approach to the ridge to avoid the crowds, and was mostly successful. People were out, but it didn't seem overly crowded, even with the Squam Ridge Race also happening today (forgot about that). The ledges below Morgan were fairly busy, so I didn't stay long, and I skipped the true summit because people.

I headed toward Percival for a short distance and then did the short bushwhack to Sawtooth, initially following a herd path which looks like it's getting more defined. A small cairn marks this highest point in the Squam Range, and there are some restricted views toward the Sandwich Range.

Passing by the Morgan ladders again on my way back, there was a bit of a traffic jam heading up them. Not a safe spot to be crowding others.
