Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: No problems with waterproof boots, probably could do all three crossings dry if you are careful.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: No issues thanks to work from Jack from Littleton, WAUMBEK and Steve Marion.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Many dogs today, large and small.
Bugs: Nothing biting, lots of buzzing flies above 3500'
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: Black cloth mask just north of the first North Twin lookout. Left on rock beside trail.
Comments: Arrived early enough to avoid the crowds up, took the herd path around the first two crossings, but the water is low so crossings aren't a problem. Smooth sailing all the way up, mostly dry trails with a little mud before North Twin and in the col between North and South. Great to be up during the Flags on the 48, got to see the flags placed on South and North and could see the flag at Garfield.
