|Hiking Trail Conditions Report|
||North Kinsman, South Kinsman, NH|
||Mt. Kinsman Trail, Kinsman Ridge Trail|
|Date of Hike:
||Saturday, September 12, 2020|
|Parking/Access Road Notes:
||Mt. Kinsman lot had a few spaces left at 7:30, but was overflowing onto the highway after noontime. |
||Dry Trail |
|Water Crossing Notes:
||First crossing is pretty low. Second and third are not really flowing. |
|Trail Maintenance Notes:
||One moderate birch stepover/steparound a few tenths above the Bald Peak Spur junction. Noted some recent waterbar work. Mt. Kinsman is a well maintained trail. Unfortunately noting more active "social distancing" damage throughout, watching people trample down moss and vegetation that was holding soil in place. |
|Lost and Found:
||Mt. Kinsman Trail was mostly dry, as was Kinsman Ridge. The scramble ledges were dry as well.|
Pretty crowded on the summits. Cool start with temperatures in the upper 30s and nice blue skies. Foliage is still generally green, but a yellow tint is working its way down Franconia Notch.
