Comments
Comments: Headed into the woods directly across from the trailhead. A little thick at the beginning then really thick much of the rest of the way up to Millen Hill, even when we tried to stay at the recommended 3100' elevation. As we got towards the steeper grade up to the summit, things did thin out a little but still a fair amount of spruce and blowdowns. Dropped down towards the col staying east of it. This section was a little more open but still a fair amount of blowdowns until we started to head up towards Dartmouth. Steep climb through clearer woods and eventually a number of faint moose herd paths, one of which brought us to the first bump and through some overgrown areas all the way to the summit. Signed in then decided to try dropping straight down to Jefferson Notch Road, hoping to avoid the thick spruce. This was a bit better going, only thick areas were primarily hobble bush. Once on the road, it was not a bad road walk uphill to the car.
