Date of Hike
Date of Hike: Tuesday, September 8, 2020
Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: One other car at the lot on 16 when we pulled in, maybe a half dozen at the end of the day. Mid-week/post Labor Day hiking traffic has really fallen off from before.
Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Dry Trail, Wet Trail, Standing/Running Water on Trail, Mud - Minor/Avoidable, Mud - Significant
Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: All five on Rocky Branch were fairly easy rock hops (done carefully).
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Trails in decent shape, with a few blowdowns, easy step over/duck unders. I did run my head into a couple log ends projecting out into the trail on Isolation East, in the big blowdown area. One I moved more out of the way. Be careful on the uphills, when staring mostly at the trail. Given the lack of rain, much of the muddy areas on the flat part of Davis Path could be walked on.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Saw a couple well behaved.
Bugs
Bugs: None.

Comments
Comments: Decent day, but somewhat humid for September. Saw a few groups of others, mainly on Isolation itself and on trails up high. One fellow up top had just finished his 48. Congratulations for him.
