Parking/Access Road Notes: base station road partially flooded by Hotel..Parked at hikers lot at base station..Free today..only a couple of cars there..Clinton Road open from Crawford Notch to Base Road..heading up to Jefferson was closed still

Trail Maintenance Notes: fresh blowdown work on Jewell..in great shape..signs down off posts at Little Munroe and Mt Eisenhower Trail..looks like new posts may be in order

Bugs: ##NOTE## hornets nest at summit of Munroe..they are not happy many non biting but annoying bugs around Eisenhower...descended through a layer of black flies on Crawford Path below Mitzpah

Lost and Found: found car keys and water bottle on Eisenhower..turned in at Highland center

Comments: Presi Day...excellent...Jewell Trail in fine shape..a bit wet at bottom but smooth and dry to treeline.


Fields of wildflowers along upper Jewell and Gulfside..trails in great shape.. Many flowers on the side of Little Munroe and heading across Franklin..glorious day with hot sun..cool breezes at times..long distance views...great day out with Val...got my first swim of the year in on one of the spots along the Base Station Road...very nice
