Only a few cars in the lot. Only 1 other car when we got back to the trailhead a little after 5 pm. |

There are 3 big hemlock blowdowns, each about 2.5 feet in diameter, one is older and has been cut and the cut log has been dropped to the ground across the trail so it can be easily clambered over. Another one is more recent and is raised a bit off the trail. You can see how the bark is starting to wear from people climbing over it. Will be a lot of work to remove with hand tools as this is Sandwich Range Wilderness. The third hemlock is a widowmaker leaning over the trail. Right now you can go around the trunk, but eventually it will deteriorate where it is resting on other trees and will gradually fall more and block the trail. |

None. Just spider webs across the trail, as it appears no one else went up there today. |

Picked up a black T-shirt rag on the ground. Packed it out. |

Second hike of the day (after Tecumseh) to work on redlining WV. Cascades were just a dribble. Looks like it would be worth a trip in high water season. Thanks Lone Wolf. |
