Very pleasantly surprised with these trails today. My first time hiking the Stoney Brook Trail and this portion of the Carter-Moriah Trail. First 2/3 of Stoney Brook is an enjoyable woods walk with moderate grades and excellent footing. The ascent up to Moriah on the Carter-Moriah Trail is also moderate with open ledges.
Very few people on the trail. Only saw about 10 people and the parking lot was near empty. Can't say the same about the highways - super busy holiday traffic. |
