Entered the woods at the trailhead but immediately headed in the opposite direction for our bushwhack. Clear woods at first but then we found ourselves having to push through a large area of hobblebush, raspberries, etc. in a large, overgrown logged area. This overgrowth continued most of the climb until we finally entered some more open woods near the height of land. Several bumps on the summit but we managed to locate the recognized highpoint. Took a more direct heading towards the road, hoping to find more open woods lower down but soon ended up once again in lots of overgrowth which continued all the way to the road! Some days are just like that. However, we did reach a milestone today: #300! |
