Took Brookside and Walking Boss to the summit of North Loon, went to both summits; found the bootleg ski trail, taking the left turn going north at the pile of birch logs (go straight at this point to go to Scar Ridge). At the col, the herd path disappears; the ridge has some blowdowns, I found it easier going just off the west side of the ridge. Found the summit, then backtracked 0.4 mile to the col to avoid the initial steep descent. Took nice open woods back down to Brookside Trail. |
