Lincoln Woods was nice Thurs morning at 8AM. Overflowing with maskless crowds milling about Sat afternoon with cars parked way down the Kanc. |

Shoal Pond Tr: a couple-few of the numerous bog bridges are decayed and no longer attached at one end. thank you to whomever came thru with an ax recently!
Shoal Pond Pk: the canister is empty and register gone, if someone goes up there, might want to bring a new register to replace it. |

Bushwhacked to Shoal Pond Pk as part of a 2-night backpack with Thoreau Falls and Shoal Pond.
Headed up from the west near the confluence of Jumping Brook with the North Fork, initially thru steep spruce, then more gentle slopes thru hardwoods and hobblebush, then steeper and tighter conifers near the top. The canister was empty. Did not have paper or pencil to replace. We found the register 25-30' away on our way down and packed out the pen and decaying plastic bag. The paper register had disintegrated into pieces, barely recognizable as such, and not salvageable. |
