 | Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Plenty of parking roadside at trailhead lot on 302. Primary pulloff which holds maybe 7 cars was full. Compared to most trailhead lots I passed, this one was fairly empty even mid-morning. |

no issues - all water was running low |

 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Major silver birch blowdown with multiple herd paths developing. Cannot remember exact location - perhaps around 2000'? Also, trails were fairly brushy with either good bog bridges or older damaged bog bridges. |

Finally got to paddle Norcross Pond - terrific day to carry the packraft. Put in at the natural stone dam at the furthest end of the pond and the wind blew me to the south side where I packed up and headed back - it was amazing. A totally different perspective as so many mountain tops are totally overgrown and viewless, ponds are a good option from which to get views! Middle of pond has some VERY large, barely submerged flat/pointy rocks you gotta look out for, but, lots of nice lily pads! Trails were pretty eroded. Didn't see anybody until my descent mid-afternoon when the throngs showed up heading up - I am guessing camping would be pretty crowded there tonight!!!! |
