Comments
Comments: Some exploration of the Moose Mountain ridge south of the AT using several off-the-radar trails. The walk along the ridgecrest is very interesting, as it is quite narrow in places. One stretch was about 10-20 feet wide with the slopes dropping off steeply on either side. Lots of great ledge outlooks with views mainly to the east.

I went south as far as the "South South South Peak" of Moose (NH500 bonus peak), the high point of which is just off trail. There's a fairly new register and I was the third person to sign in.

Backtracking to my car, I then walked the access road to the communication tower on "South South Peak" (fire tower list). From the tower I bushwhacked into the woods behind it, encountering the AT corridor boundary. The summit is extremely flat. I wandered about for a while looking for the cairn and register mentioned previously, but I couldn't find it. I had to have been close though.

It certainly didn't feel like Labor Day weekend here. I encountered four folks at the start of the day, then saw no one else.
