Comments
Comments: Remnant minor mud and wet conditions.

Enjoyed watching a Pileated Woodpecker between the summits of Field and Willey.

Early start and done hiking by 10:30 a.m. I did not encounter significant numbers of people until the descent from Tom. By the time I was done, the trailhead areas near Crawfords were packed with vehicles lining Route 302. Driving through Franconia Notch, the Lafayette Place parking area was full, as were the Basin parking areas. A lot oF traffic heading north on I93.
