Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: I did a one way hike and returned via the same route. I didn’t use the Flume Slide Trail as I had my dog Piper with me especially with the recent heavy rain we had. However I saw 3 other dogs who hiked up it with their human friends and they told me their dogs did fine. Note there is no available water after the spring at the Liberty tent site so make sure to bring water for your furry friend.
Bugs
Bugs: A few flies on the summits but not an issue.

Comments
Comments: Beautiful day on the Franconia Ridge. Lots of people enjoying the trails and summits with some day hikers as well as some backpackers doing the Pemi Loop. One thru hiker who was doing a flip flop heading north.
Piper has now completed 44 of the 48 four thousand footers and loves hiking and has no issues. Always seems ready for more.
