Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Low enough to cross just fine. The unmaintained portion of rocky branch trail was not nearly so bad as I'd heard, probably because of the dry year. That being said, you are hopping rocks thinking that you are on a stream and not a trail. However the rocks are plentiful and the mud is currently minor.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Most blow downs have been cleared or are able to be stepped over. Above Glen Boulder the trail could use trimming. Davis Path seems to be in good shape!
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: The trail from Glen Bounder doesn't have water. It is steeper but generally should be okay for seasoned dogs. Rocky Branch side has a lot of water except for a long stretch near the trailhead and the Davis Path.
Bugs
Bugs: Near the start of the Glen Boulder trail we had a sting after the step over blow down.
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: shoes at Rocky Branch N trailhead

Comments
Comments: I really enjoyed this day for my 48 finish! The views from Glen Boulder are lovely and I adored descending the Davis Path into the wilderness. Dark clouds hovered around Washington. We were able to get service down the Davis Path and check the higher summit forecast. We rerouted out Rocky Branch which avoided thunderstorms above treeline and 70mph gusts.
Thank you to our unnamed angel who picked us up halfway through our road walk! It is a looooonnnngg walk all uphill!
