Comments
Comments: From the parking area we walked back to Summer Club Road (gated and marked as Private but ok for Hikers using the Lamphere Trail). Taking the road beyond the gate we followed the right fork (Left Fork is again marked private and Dead End). The unmarked Lamphere Trail heads in a northerly direction finally breaking away from the Snomo Trail system. This lead to the Kauffmann Forest Boundary with the Nash Stream Forest. Continued on the path to the intersection with the Cohos Tr and Bald Peak Link. About .1 further the unmarked but easy to follow herd path led straight to the fantastic views on the ledges just below the recognized summit. The herd path continues around the cone to another ledgy area providing additional viewing southerly toward the Presi's and the Kilkenny Ridge (well worth the extra effort).
