| Comments: |
trails all in decent shape. some significant mud in lower section of unknown pond trail and some wet/muddy patches on kilkenny ridge. interesting spot about 100 yards in from the trailhead on mill brook rd. where the brook has partially relocated itself into the footbed of the trail for about 30 yards or so seemingly due to a large tree down in the brook.
the off trail section on unknown pond peak was real pretty and loaded with moose sign. some bugs, not bad if moving, but when stopped they could be annoying.
really nice day in a beautiful part of the mountains. great views from the horn and at unknown pond with a cool breeze for much of the hike. thanks to cynthia, sarah and dave for a nice day.
