Comments
Comments: Got an early start and made good time to the hut in a little over an hour. Used outside water faucet to bring total water for this long hike to just under 4 liters. But it stayed cool and contrary to the weather forecast became cloudy with a brief heavy shower. I dumped out about a liter of water when starting the return. The Twinway from Zeacliff to Zealand Mnt. is easy hiking. It does get steeper nearing Zealand Mnt. with a short ladder to assist getting up a ledge. But the stretch from Zealand Mnt. to the Bondcliff trail has a section filled with large boulders to work around or over. The Bondcliff trail and West Bond spur are fairly easy to hike. I returned the way I came. While climbing Zealand Mnt again a brief but heavy shower turned the trail into a river slowing the pace as conditions became slippery. Started at 5:51a and finished at 3:13p. Took decent breaks at the hut and other shorter stops along the way. Measured 15.8 miles, elevation gain 4085 ft,
