Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Ranger Trail had about 2-3 stopover blowdowns past the Fire Ranger garage. Evidence of maintenance on lower 2 miles. Blazing haphazard at best: some faded and some fairly new. Lambert Ridge Trail had about 12 + stopover blowdowns.

Lost and Found
Lost and Found: Found a blue printed bandana on the Ranger Trail. Tied it to a tree branch in case the hiker returns the same way. Also face mask on a tree branch about halfway up the Ranger Trail hanging from a tree branch....

Comments
Comments: Great time to hike the Ranger Trail as it is just about bone dry due to the drought. First part a rocky woods road turning to a path which was a little less rocky. Soon flattens our and parallels the streamed. This part was actually like walking through a park. Then all of a sudden there is a right turn and you are walking up a rocky stream bed. For the final .3-.5 mile, the trail becomes pretty steep and there are ledges and rocks to follow all the way to the trail junction. We could see why this could be problematic when wet. Turned left onto the AT and headed steeply down for a bit. There is a brief flat section then the trails climbs up to the ridge ledges and for awhile you are following those ledges up and down, up and down, up and down. Lots of pretty good views in this section. After the last ledge, the trail descends pretty steeply on more ledges, then dirt trail, moderating only slightly as you descend to the parking lot.
