Peaks Mt. Garfield, NH
Trails
Trails: Garfield Trail, Garfield Ridge Trail
Date of Hike
Date of Hike: Wednesday, August 19, 2020
Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: I was the second car at 530am; at 1015am the lot was overflowing and cars were parked down both sides of the road. On a Wednesday!!
Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Wet/Slippery Rock, Mud - Minor/Avoidable
Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Two crossings with easy rock-hops.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Thank you to the awesome trail adopters - the trail is in great condition in that there are no blowdowns and trimming has been done!! I am sad to see so much of the trail washed out but gravity is a thing and water is powerful.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: A lot of them, mostly off leash. It is a great trail for a healthy dog that comes when it is called!!
Bugs
Bugs: Not today. But it was chilly.
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: Only toilet paper. I bagged that with gloves and packed it all out. There was only tp on my way down, none if my way up. LNT. If only I could have figured out which car was responsible for the messes I could have left them their bag!! Ha ha. I properly disposed of it.

Comments
Comments: Such a smooth sailing trail; it’s a great option when you want to be up on the ridge line but don’t want a technical challenge.
