Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Managed to drive all the way down Pond of Safety Road to the left turn where it meets the trail and then to the parking lot above the pond. Only bad part was a stretch of about .1 mile past the second bridge where we had to negotiate some dips in the road. Nothing horrible, but you need to just go slow. We have a Jeep so have high clearance but we also so a sedan that had made it when we were leaving. Only us in the parking lot. Did meet two vehicles on our way back out.

Comments
Comments: Decided to follow Nordic Gal's directions which worked pretty well. We followed the old access road which runs from just above the parking lot OR can be picked up by following the path by going straight when it makes a turn down towards the pond. We followed the access road until it looked like we were getting near to the blue-blazed Randolph boundary markers. Once found we followed them through the woods to an old woods road which we followed until we were just below the summit. Bushwhacked a short but steep section to the flat summit. Once there, the Bills' jar is visible from quite a distance! Signed in then dropped back down to the road which we followed until it petered out, then set a heading for the pond. Pretty clean woods. Managed to hit the access road and followed it back to the car. Just in time for lunch by the pond!
