|Hiking Trail Conditions Report|
||Mt. Carrigain, NH|
||Signal Ridge Trail, Carrigain Notch Trail, Desolation Trail|
|Date of Hike:
||Friday, August 14, 2020|
|Parking/Access Road Notes:
||Excellent parking at 5:15am |
||Mud - Minor/Avoidable |
|Water Crossing Notes:
||One crossing about 0.2 miles before Carrigain Notch splits from Signal Ridge. Can be done without removing shoes and rock hopping. |
|Trail Maintenance Notes:
||Many off leash, most under control. |
||Not biting today! |
|Lost and Found:
||As previously reported, copious moose sign on last mile of Carrigain Notch Trail (traveling in the counterclockwise direction) I happily did not actually see any moose. |
Counterclockwise is a great plan to go up the steep climb of Desolation and then down the gentle switchbacks of Signal Ridge.
I mever came across the reported hornets nest.
