Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Piper did well but she is used to walking on rocks including large boulders. She had no issues with the pads of her feet. I met a couple doing the same route at Lake of the Clouds hut who have an older dog who developed a cut on his paw. Offered to lend them dog boots that I carry if needed. They declined. They completed the same route we took but he reports he had to carry his dog some of the way down. There are several miles of rock/boulders above tree line. Lots of water on the Ammo trail and a water spigot at the hut and outside one of the buildings on the summit to use but no water on Gulfside trail or the Jewell trail until nearly the bottom so make sure you carry enough for the dog.

Comments
Comments: Great day to summit Mount Washington. Lots of sun and nice breeze.
Lots of hikers going up Ammo trail and looping down Jewell as we were.
Top of Washington was crowded given the nice weather and people who rode the Cog Railroad or drove up the auto rode.
Maybe a 30 minute line to get a picture next to the summit sign.
