Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Usual plenty of room. Lot so well plowed I couldn't see any snow.
Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Dry Trail, Wet Trail
Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: First crossing on trail to the South slide is shallow but a wet booter unless you go a short ways downstream and rock hop. All others are step rocks.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Ran into the trail maintainer working on the trail to the south slide. Trails basically in pretty good shape, some easily handled blowdowns before and after south peak, a lot of small winter debris from south to middle peak much of which was easily moved, the usual eroded steep section of Pine Bend that was so much easier than in the icy months, and then quite a few blowdowns spaced out on the Scar trail which aren't a hindrance.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: The mighty tough little dog had fun. Plenty of good spots to sip and dip up the south slide and on Scar; not much in between but it's shaded. He panted some on the south slide but way outpaced me. We met Huckleberry Hound, a young rescue dog that came up the north slide.
Bugs
Bugs: There were some black flies and skeeters when I stopped below the south slide for a snack, but otherwise they weren't an issue even when snacking on Middle Tripyramid, but there was a nice breeze on the ridge.

Comments
Comments: This hike was Plan B due to its proximity to home and it turned out to be a beauty. The trails are in good shape; great for moving along at a nice rhythm. The sun came out early, and while it was somewhat warm and humid to start a refreshing breeze began while we were on the south slide and stayed with us the whole hike. We didn't see anyone other than the trail maintainer until a father-son-dog combo near the north peak, and not another person until down on Livermore Road.

The area must have had a bit of rain last night but streams weren't too high, and the trails up and on the ridge were just moist. Scaur was its usual fun boogie down. The road out gets a bit tedious but Pepper loved the frequent sips and dips it provides. No snow anywhere. Great hike with the little dog.
