Nice day for a short hike.
The trail is dry and easy to navigate. I encountered very few people on the ascent and nobody on the descent. It was great to have the open spaces be open, and I picked the trail today hoping that it would be a little less traveled than others this weekend.
Nice view of Washipauka pond and Moosilauke from the summit ledge. I posted a pic if anyone is interested -- follow the link.
I had the summit ledge to myself and was entertained for a long time by a pair of Peregrine Falcons jousting in the air. Such graceful birds.
I am also amazed by how many chipmunks there are this year. I think that if they could get organized, then they could take over the world. :)
