There are about half a dozen blowdowns remaining between the C-D col and C peak, and a few between C and B. None between A and B. I took out what I could by hand, but did not have a saw with me. |

Ski area is not operating this summer, so it's very quiet. No mowing yet either. Took the work road up (Alley Cat to Polecat to Catnap to Tomcat to Polecat), which was mostly dry and a bit rocky, then took the short bushwhack from the top turn over to the Wildcat Ridge Trail to cut off D on the way in.
Wildcat Ridge Trail had fresh blowdowns from yesterday's easterly wind storm. Nothing insurmountable, but enough to slow progress a little bit. Some mud, but generally avoidable.
Nice summer afternoon with humidity not nearly as bad as the past month plus. Only saw a few folks the entire time. |
