Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: No issues.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: A few blowdowns. This stretch of Mahoosuc Trail needs some love. The first mile or so is fine, but after that it is becoming overgrown and there's a long stretch below the south ledges that is succumbing to severe erosion. Blazing needs to be redone from top to bottom. The walk in from NH 16 could still prove to be confusing for some, but there are more small signs pointing the way than last time I was here.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: I guess.
Bugs
Bugs: Gnats were abundant.
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: Nothing.

Comments
Comments: This was a hike for the next White Mountain Guide to better document the walk in from the highway and to check on the general condition of the route. Clear sailing for the first mile or so on the actual trail, then lots of mud, some of it deep. Plenty of stepping stones though. However, many of those stones were slick due to the high humidity. Lots of erosion leading up to the south ledges, but walking the ridge is much better. I turned back at the Centennial Trail junction.

A mix of clouds and sun today, with a brief shower during the ascent. Views were better at the ledges on the return trip. I saw an AMC kids group heading out the same time I did, but never encountered them again, so I don't know where they went. Aside from them, no other humans were sighted. Very, very humid today. Enough already.
