Date of Hike: Saturday, July 25, 2020
Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Limited parking at trailhead (maybe 4 in woods, and 2 on road). But plenty of additional parking available across the street near the river.
Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Dry Trail, Wet/Slippery Rock, Mud - Minor/Avoidable
Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Just a few small ones. No worries.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: In need of some chain teeth to clean up more blowdowns. Although only one in the first mile or so of the Langdon trail required a Limbo move. I had packed a small folding saw, but it was no match for these -- illy me to even think of such things. Akin Monty Python with the "Knights who say Nik!" suggesting to cut down a tree with a herring.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Only saw one large pooch with a couple. He looked maybe a touch overheated, but it might have just been his age.
Bugs
Bugs: Deet just seemed to annoy the pests. At least for one of our companions. I abstained from Deet, but swatting seemed to help, as they appeared to be taking no prisoners. Praying to your deity might be better. Thankfully, a few breaks in the trees brought wind and relief. Ditto on the summit. The summit had hover flies, which are a treat. They land on hikers looking for salt - they dont' bite. People often mistake them for bees, but their wings are in a different configuration. Also there were a few yellow jackets, which are not a treat, but were easily avoided.
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: Nada to report here.

Comments
Comments: What a beautiful day and summit! Mt Parker Deserves its place on 52 with a view.
The trail is often moderate, but undulates on maybe 3 ups and downs. Only one was significant -- maybe 300' or so feet. Aside from that it's a great trail and hike. No regrets.

BTW - don't confuse this peak, Mt Parker, near Bartlett, NH with 'Parker Mountain' near Center Strafford, NH in the eastern part of NH. Never been on the latter, but there's no relation between the two.
