Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Plenty of spots on a quiet and early Friday morning start. When we came out around 2:00 ish, the lot was full, the highway was lined with cars, and the ranger was ticketing cars without decals or parking permits.

Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Easy/safe ford of the Pemi East Branch at the site of the former Thoreau Falls Tr. Bridge. For future reference, the USGS gauge of the Pemi East Branch was running around 200 CFS today. There was no way to rock hop without getting shoes wet... but it was a pleasant and refreshing ford.

Comments
Comments: Long hike at almost 18.5 miles, but fairly easy and straight forward. Took trails all the way in to until we were due west of the peak on the Thoreau Falls Trail. BW'd up through woods that were okay to travel through / not bad. Some hobble down low and some sticks up high, but again, never too bad. As we neared the peak, we did aim a touch south of the peak, and hit the ridge on its south side, which helped us avoid a small rock band/cliff area. Summit was super obvious and a bit more open. Jar. Came out the same as we went in.

NH300 finish for me. Another successful hike and fun day with JEM3.
