| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Parking is ad-hoc, parallel on the side of the road. Beware, the trailhead sign (no kiosk) is set back about 50 feet and slightly uphill from the road. You're trying to find something that's actually fairly hidden away. If you get to the golf course, you've definitely gone too far. |

| Surface Conditions: |
Dry Trail, Wet Trail, Wet/Slippery Rock, Standing/Running Water on Trail, Mud - Minor/Avoidable, Mud - Significant, Leaves - Significant/Slippery |

|
| Water Crossing Notes: |
Much of the trail ascends a drainage. Once the rain gets going, you're climbing up a cascade, and if there's a robust rainfall, it becomes a surprisingly vigorous torrent of water. Unless it's bone dry, forget about having dry footwear. |
|
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Trail was in fine shape, as most are on that mountain. |

| Dog-Related Notes: |

|
| Bugs: |
Various insects are out in force. It's a wet trail, so bug juice is the order of the day. |

| Comments: |
This one turned out way longer than I expected, and longer than it should have, to the point where it became unpleasant. Getting caught out in a storm can have that effect. But know that the trail features quite a few fairly deep pointless ups and downs, is quite rocky and rooty, and if it's wet, you'll be crossing puddles that you'll need to literally wade across. It felt less like "friendly local Monadnock" and more like something that would have been better situated on the side of one of the northern Pressies.
Photos and a more detailed write-up are on my blog, as always. |
