Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: I parked in a grassy area directly across from the trailhead. There’s another spot on the other side of the bridge just before the trailhead that’s gravel instead of grass and is what the guidebook describes I believe. Room for hair a couple of cars but I don’t think this is a popular one. I came in from Route 2 and the road is slow going with lots and lots of rocks and ruts.
Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Dry Trail, Wet Trail
Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: None but be careful along the cliffs do you don’t fall to your death in it.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: The trail is blazed every so often in somewhat faded yellow. There’s a double yellow blaze near the bottom as you’re coming down. I assumed Bear tight but you’re actually supposed to bear left (bearing right will take you just up the road from the trailhead so no problem).
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: If you bring them I’d be REAL careful with them near the falls as there’s a sheer drop off at some points.
Bugs
Bugs: Not too bad.
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: None

Comments
Comments: None (Proteus, Erebus, and Evans falls)

A short but sweet hike less than a half mile round trip. The spur path (for redlining) to Proteus Fall is immediately after a steep, very footy pitch. There’s also a sign for it so no problem there. The falls were mostly small (especially Evans) but nice. The trail is steep at times and has a bit of difficult footing but not too bad. The trail was mostly dry.
