Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: All of them were relatively easy and rock hoppable over the weekend
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Dry River was in great shape. There were a few large blowdowns that need an axe or cross saw but it was otherwise ok. We spent many an hour brushing Isolation West and taking out blowdowns. It should be better than it’s been in a decade. We are done maintaining that section for the year. We brushed Isolation East between the 5th crossing and Davis Path junction, and also between the 1st and 2nd crossings. We will be back in the fall to brush the rest. We took out all blowdowns. Remember: Isolation Trail is entirely in Wilderness Zone and BLAZES ARE NOT ALLOWED IN WILDERNESS! Looks like Iso got all new signs put up! Rocky Branch needs major brushing work done in the wet section from the height of land to the isolation trail junction. It was otherwise in great shape.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Plenty of water haha! There were mushrooms EVERYWHERE! We saw lots of Amanita muscaria which are poisonous.
Bugs
Bugs: Brutal!
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: If you are missing a piece of wrapper or your sticker for your banana, I carried them out for you! I usually pull out tons of trash, but this was a record low amount of trash. Good work all! I also saw a waterlogged sock along the side of Dry River Trail. I didn’t pack it out because we had to keep our weight low for our work and it was the beginning of our trip.

Comments
Comments: We had dinner on Isolation summit and watched the sun set behind the presidential. What an experience!
