Pond Falls Trail is about .7 miles end to end. Nice dirt pathway throughout. You can hear the falls from the parking area as it is only about .1 mile in. Lots of side trails to get to the stream and views of the falls. Trail follows along the falls to about halfway to the height. You can walk up the rock along the edge when dry if you want to; we chose not to. The trail then takes a left turn and climbs much of the trail's 250' gain ending at a height of land. From here it is pretty flat as it winds through the woods to the stream crossing. Right now, you can easily cross but will get your feet wet. Trio Pond Road is less than .1 mile from the crossing. We walked back on Trio Ponds to Nash Stream Road. Total loop about 2.5 miles. |
