Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Water levels are still above summer normal after the recent heavy rains. Side brooks were crossed with a little extra effort. The main trail crossing at the old Spider bridge site was more difficult with wet and submerged stones. This crossing, with its mix of stones and boulders, and a crumbling high bank on the north side, can be a challenge even during low water. A shallow and sandy section just below the crossing could be easily waded.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Trails generally clear and brushed. Descending the Black Angle trail toward Rim Junction, however, I encountered a new 5-way intersection. Signboard at this junction is incomplete and confusing. The Blue Brook Connector appears to be a new addition here. Better signage would help.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Met several well behaved dogs on the Basin trail.
Bugs
Bugs: Few bugs biting today.

Comments
Comments: Despite a blue sky day, the trails were still soaked from the rains. All 3 trails had numerous muddy sections, as well as wet roots and rocks underfoot. A day to step carefully. All the seasonal brooks were flowing.
