Comments
Comments: Started bushwhacking from the picnic tables just SW of High Brook and made it to Middle Acteon Peak in good time, then on to Sachem where I watched a group of A-10s flying a loop around the western Sandwich Range. The woods in the Sachem-Jennings col were pretty open and stayed that way during the whack up the SW side of Jennings. Had a brief moose encounter and came across a very large porcupine just before reaching the Jennings summit cliff. It was interesting seeing the many layers of granite from the base and side of the cliff. I descended via the Jennings Peak Spur & Sandwich Mtn. Trails (some standing water on the latter) and then did the road walk on RT 49 back to the starting point.
