 | Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Parked on Hunt's Mountain Road at a clearing about .1 mile west of the power lines, having come up that road from Moulton Hill Road. Took the eastern approach per Beth Z and it was perfect! Road does go all the way up past the power lines but was getting a little rutty so we parked here. |

 | Comments: |
Walked up Hunt's Mountain Road to the power lines. Under the third set of towers, an ATV track begins heading right up the ridge. Moderate grade, some grassy spots and about three large puddles easily gotten around. About halfway there, the trail forks, one way leading into the woods, the other straight ahead: we took the one that stayed straight. This part became a little grassier and went over some ledgy areas but remained moderate. The other track came back out about halfway up the slope to the highpoint. Just before the highpoint the trail turned left and for a short stretch went steeply up to the woods where we found a fire pit full of cans. From here, it was a very short bushwhack to the summit which was hard to miss as it is on a big bump just south of where we entered the woods. Made our way back down the same way we came up. Chose not to follow the trail through the woods as we were enjoying the flowers and the views. Nice hike! |
