Comments: Rattlesnake Mountain Trail, Loop Trail, Abandoned eastern portion of Rattlesnake Mtn Trail

Wanted to explore the eastern section of the Rattlesnake Mtn Trail last mentioned in my 1987 WMG. It was abandoned due to trail access issues off Stinson Lake Rd. From the top col, the trail is quite indistinct but soon joins very old and obvious logging/skidder roads for the primary descent. It passes several really interesting rock and water features in a beautiful mossy glen-like area. Several of the logging roads it follows are quite steep. Eventually, I came to an abandoned trailer/camp area. Once the route flattened out, I just kept following more modern logging roads eventually getting very close to some houses with people in their yards. I could see Stinson Lake Rd but couldn't see any way to actually reach it without interacting with anyone. I never saw any "no trespassing" signs from my direction of approach, however. The way back up was quite confusing in terms of the network of modern logging roads. I was super-careful to check my route back up so I didn't get lost - there are lots of twists and turns in those junctions. Very fun exploration!!!!
